Buffalo is home to one of the most innovative and exciting neurosurgery residency training programs in the country, through the University at Buffalo Neurosurgery at the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences.
Our seven-year neurosurgery residency program is designed to provide progressive learning experiences and to encourage progressive responsibility. Structured rotations, including a three-month endovascular rotation, ensure that residents acquire the requisite knowledge and skills to diagnose and treat neurosurgical disorders, while educational conferences expose residents to the disciplines of neuroanatomy, neurophysiology, neuropathology, neuropharmacology, and neurochemistry.
UBNS residents and fellows take part in conducting research, gaining professional experience while working to extend the frontiers of medical knowledge. Our extensive experience in conducting clinical trials helps us provide a well-developed, safe and medically sound infrastructure for investigative projects.
