Michael Stoffman, MD joins UBNS
Formerly with Invision Health and practicing in the Buffalo area for 10 years, Dr. Stoffman brings his neurosurgical expertise in minimally invasive spine surgery to our Comprehensive Advanced Orthopedic Spine Center headed by Dr. John Pollina. Dr. Stoffman's office is located at 6930 Williams Road, Suite 3800, Niagara Falls, NY and can be reached at 716/218-1070.
He specializes in minimally invasive spine surgery, decompressive surgery, spine fusion and disk replacement. He also has a special interest in tumors of the brain, pituitary gland and spinal cord.
He earned his Bachelors degree from the University of Toronto in Pharmacology with High Distinction and his Medical Degree from the University of Ottawa cum laude. He then completed his surgical internship at McGill University at the Montreal Neurological Institute and his neurosurgery residency training at Yale University where he was appointed Chief Resident. He was also an associate Research Scientist at Yale University.
Dr. Stoffman has been involved in clinical research and was a Principal Investigator on a National Cancer Institute funded grant. He has been invited to review grant applications by other physicians and scientists for the National Institute of Health. His research has been presented at national and international scientific meetings and published in scientific articles.
Dr. Stoffman continues to care for Canadian patients and our office routinely organizes same day diagnostic imaging (MRI or CT) with comprehensive neurosurgical evaluation. Following this expedited and thorough evaluation, a therapeutic plan is devised and then put into place. Most Canadian patients have come from Ontario and Quebec but all are welcome.
Dr. Stoffman is certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgeons and a Fellow of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (FAANS). He is a member of the Congress of Neurological Surgeons. He is also a member of the North American Spine Society.
In addition to his strong passion for Neurosurgery, Dr. Stoffman enjoys being a husband and father as well as running, reading and music.
