Residency in Buffalo
Buffalo is home to one of the most innovative and exciting neurosurgery residency training programs in the country, through University at Buffalo Neurosurgery. As an acclaimed regional referral center for neurosurgical disorders, University at Buffalo Neurosurgery attracts a large and varied patient base. In the past year, we performed more than 13,000 index cases. The total case volume of all neurosurgical procedures including endovascular, spine, trauma, functional, and pediatric in the last year is over 50,000 patients seen in office and more than 7,000 surgical and interventional procedures.
Residency training in neurosurgery at the University at Buffalo is sponsored by University Medical Resident Services. Educational activities and clinical rotations take place at multiple hospitals: Buffalo General Medical Center, Gates Vascular Institute, John R. Oishei Children’s Hospital – all part of the Kaleida Health System, Erie County Medical Center and Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center.
